Building the Jacuzzi Tub
Yeah, I didn't really mean building the tub, but placing it and building the deck and surround for it. The first thing we did was to attach a 2x4 to the wall to seat the back edges on.
Since the dining room is on the other side of this wall, insulation was important.
Here are the hot and cold water lines complete with easy to access shut off valves.
Next, Jessie installed the drain and the overflow valve on the tub.
Screwing it in place.
It is important, for obvious reasons, that you get that seal on the back properly installed.
The most interesting picture of all! Ha Ha! This is the hole Jessie cut in the floor for the drain line. It is easily accessible through the drop ceiling downstains.
Installing the drain plug. We kept the handles on the tub covered until we were ready to use it to protect them.
Good labor it hard to find, but here are two of Jessie's favorite helpers. They are Mike Michel and our son Parker-Daniil.
Here's a hard working young man, Parker-Daniil, building the frame for the tub.
Parker-Daniil and Mike Michel working on that last corner.
Parker-Daniil looking at his finished product. Good work, son!
One more view, just for good measure.
Of couse, it's not completely finished, but Jessie got it functional by the time Emily and I returned from our hike on the Appalachain Trail. Here is the very first water coming through the cold water line.
I'm so excited! There is water in my tub!! Yahoo!!!!
Jessie viewing the results of his labor.
This is the cold water, he also hooked up that other pipe with the hot water.
The tub filled up and the jets came on, success! Man, did that feel good after three days on the A.T.!
